Incoming Snail Mail!!!

YEEEHAAAAAhhhhh!!!

Can y'all tell that I am getting ready to go to TEXAS?  That means working on all my TEXAS lingo. And I am ready and rarin' to go!  Hmmmm....that gets me thinking!  I should get some penpals in the general area so I can do a penpal meet up with my Texan snailmail lovin' community! I am able to wrangle out a few letters from kinfolk...,but bless their hearts, its like they get fixin to write...but lose heart.  Anyway...if any of you kind hearted Texan folk want to write me, leave a comment.  Especially if you live in the Dallas, or Sherman area....I'd like that more than you could shake a stick at!
Oh, but back to my blog post.  Above is my recent  postcrossing incoming.  Two are not shown...they got left on a counter somehow.  I love the stamps, and all the nice little notes.   It really does make a sad mailbox happy to get all of these.  So now, it is time for me to go on and get my next batch of addresses. I think I will be doing about 10 or 20 a month.  The above picture gives you a hint of where I live!  This was a  record snowfall that we received here in the "gateway to the south"!  It was great fun getting snowed in...drinking hot chocolate by the gallon, sitting by the fireplace...

And admiring my incoming mail on my nice cleaned up desk.

Hope you are enjoying this day
where ever you may be
Go and make /send
some good mail

Outgoing And Incoming Mail.....

A little of this and that....

A couple of outgoing Flip Books....I make sure to enclose them in a cello bag so that they will not get damaged along the postal route.

Some fun out going postal philately!

I absolutely adore Yapping Cat Studios!  Cindy is an artist , using acrylics and water colors.  Her work is amazing, and I am  an undying fan!  She recently posted this tiny acrylic book on her instagram feed:  yappingcatstudio. (you won't regret following her for a daily does of inspiration!) I wanted it so badly...and you know....she actually sent it to me!  Pinch me!  Anyway, she of course wrapped it in a beautiful way and I just adore it.  I have placed it on the top of my desk for inspiration!  Thank you again, Cindy!

I can't help myself!!!  When sales happen, I just can't resist!  Look at these beauties!  I can't wait to start putting these to use!  Washi tape just adds that certain little touch to any envelope  or plain piece of paper.  So if you are in a hurry and don't have time to make a flip book, or anything else.  Get your Washi tape stash out and put it to good use!

Some Cute Spring Envelopes....

Most of the time it always starts with the envelope for me.  I think making envelopes gets the creative juices going for me.  When I am pleased with the envelope, then I sit down and write the letter.  It isn't always that way but it seems to happen that way often.  what about you?  These are made using scrapbooking paper.

Front view....

Here is another envelope that was not included in the above photos.  I am getting a little more creative with my postal stamp placements, do you think?

Here is a batch of out going mail...don't worry, I did finish the cloud letter.  I cut out a cloud for my return address and put a stamp on it.

Hello JO!  Very over-due letter that went out last week, with a little intro page with my letter.  I think this may be my first letter to Malaysia...

I'm still working my way out of the pile of letters ... I am still going at a pretty good pace.  If you need to hear from me, just know that I am still working my way through.

Take care,

Is There A Washi Tape Addiction Hotline?

5 Signs of a Washi Tape Addiction (OK, make it 6)

Now, of course, I am not referring to myself.  No, never.  But just in case there are those of you who may struggle this area, let us check if we can at least see the warning signs.

1.  You find yourself surfing online Etsy late at night, half awake, half comatosed , for pink flamingo washi tape.
2.  It isn't a coincidence that  your budget doesn't include washi tape...must mean "the sky's the limit".
 3.  You buy multiple rolls of the same tape because, you know...you'll run out and they will NEVER  have that same design.
4.  You're doing a teal planner layout and you must have 15 teal washi tapes to make it presentable.
5.  You need to find hiding places to store your stockpile of washi tape , because you are afraid your husband will see it and wonder why you have so much of it.
6.  But , "I don't have any ice cream washi tape!"

Any of you who may have ordered from my Etsy Store will know that I love mailing out my orders with lots and lots of cheerful washi tape and stickers.  I feel like everyone should get some Happy Mail now and then, so I try to make it special.  And I am really thankful for all of the great sellers on Etsy that make that happen. Check out Cwlcrafts for a great selection of washi tape! But do  be mindful of the warning signs of washi tape addiction!

Send a letter today, and of course, use lots of washi tape! :-)

Snail Mail Frugal Finds...

Dollar Tree Score!!!!

Ok.  I'm all about FRUGAL finds and I'm sure you are too!  I recently found these  items at the Dollar Tree, and quickly snatched them up.  I love the washitape...it is so vintage-y, right?   The calendars are nice and have a retro feel, great for envelope making.  The thing about the Dollar Tree is this:  get it when it is there, because the following week it won't be there!

Look at this spring-themed washi tape!  The labels are so cute....love!

My last great find at the Dollar Tree was this book that has been on my NTB (need to buy) list!
Don't pass up the book section at the Dollar Tree....they sell NY Times best sellers there for a dollar.  This book is a gorgeous hardback with dust jacket, 463 pages, great photos...retails for $27.50, and I got mine for $1!!!  I can't wait to read it all from cover to cover-- will do over Christmas break.

Enjoy the nice cold blast of ARTIC , Canadian (a nice gift from our friends to the North!) weather that is headed our way!  I find that letter writing is the BEST indoor activity to do when looking for ways to unplug from your devices.  It would be a great time to get a Letter Writing Social organized.  So gather your friends together , ok maybe after the holidays,  and gather supplies and have a great time pumping out letters.

And for all you lovers of a good deal, ALL of my letter writing kits are ON SALE now through Christmas.  If you purchase a complete kit (excludes the mini kits) you will receive  a free pencil bag/pouch.  You can just message me a description of any of the pencil pouches ( I have more that are not in the picture) in my Etsy store and I will include it in your order.  This is good until the 20th.

So keep on writing letters.  And for all of you waiting for a reply to your letter that you sent me, it is in the Que, I am working and getting through them.  I will be all caught up by the end of the year, to get my slate clean.

Send a Letter today!

More Out Going Snail Mail!

Dear Elaine....

Some long over due Elaine mail... Do you have a long time pen pal?  I have a few.  They are great!
This was a little flip book with an autumn theme.  Some people say that I have an "illustrative" style of letter writing.  I fill the boarders with little tidbits.  Just a "side note" :) but the pen pictured is a rather nice black gel pen from the Dollar Tree.  I'll try them out...seriously, you can't go too wrong if you are just paying a dollar.  This pen wrote decently.

Map themed envelope for Miss Ella.  This was made from a sheet of scrapbooking paper. I hope she enjoyed some of the older stamps.  Oh, and another plug for the Dollar Tree store:  the middle washi tape roll was purchased there.  So cute.

Verity Snail Mail

Snail Mail from the NEXT generation!

This "SWEET"  mail arrived all the way from Scotland!  This is from "Verity" who is 12 years old.  She made me an adorable flip book, and asked to be featured on my blog.  Well, she didn't need to ask.  She has a great crafty style....just look!

Look at all this goodness she sent my way!

I decided to do a little Pen Pal "intro" page to my letter, to let her know a little bit about me.  Along with my letter, I thought she might like some "Owl Mail"  so I whipped up a cute packet of owl themed embellishments and stationery for Verity.

This is a home made Kraft envelope...lined in matching colors.   This is also a LARGE-ish envelope. You need to be careful with international mail.  They seem to allow rather large envelopes, but you need to be sure that it is no more than a 1/4 inch thick.  They have a little doo-hicky thing that they will slide your letter through, and if it doesn't go through...it will go PARCEL rate, which you don't want , unless you want to spend $14 dollars or more.  So be creative in "flat mail".  I usually put about $3 worth of postage , on average, when sending to the UK.

On its way to Scotland!  Happy Travels!

Happy Snail Mailing!

Christmas Snail Mail

Merry Christmas!!!!

So sorry to have been MIA (missing in action) here on my blog.  It has been a busy month and a half.  I have been trying to catch up on letter writing  the last few days, and have enjoyed getting out my red and green goodies.  Here is a long over due letter going out to Cathy!

Did anyone else snag the Dollar Tree Christmas Washi Tape?  I hunted for it in 3 different Dollar Trees and only found it once in one!  I should have grabbed more, but I was happy with what I got.

Do you even remember what it was like to send out a letter without washi tape?  I can hardly think of it now!  Gotta love wash, right?

I am also working on my postage stamp arrangements.  I tried to get all the vintage greens and some reds, and old vintage Christmas stamps.    My favorite is the vintage red mailbox.  So sweet.

Here is a tiny parcel going out to a special someone.  I put my letter in a glassine envelope, and there is , of course, plenty of washi!

Have a wonderful day today, and if you have never read the Christmas story in the Bible, it is found in Luke Chapter 2.

Behold, a virgin shall be with child , and shall bring forth a son, and they shall call his name Emmanuel, which being interpreted is, God with us.   Matthew 1:23

This is a faithful saying, and worthy of all acceptation, that Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners.  1 Timothy 1:15

For God so loved the world that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.  John 3:16
