A Vintage Folder Flip Book...
Extraordinaire!
I received this interesting package in the mail some time ago. It was a nice puffy package that got me wondering....hmmm...what could this be?
It was from my vintage letter soul mate, Virginia! But I was in no way prepared to know what an adventure laid before me! Let's explore the contents of this most interesting "Folder Flip Book".
I untied the string...then started opening each folder...which was attached to another folder...which was attached to another folder--and so on. The amount of work in this folder book takes my breath away. Each page requires careful study -- so many paper crafting techniques here! I'm not even sure how she did this! I couldn't believe how many sides were filled with unbelievable cuteness and vintage delights. But I think I shall just let the pictures speak for themselves!
Cute vintage die cuts, bows, paper flowers, and sticky notes...
very nice , inspirational quotes throughout...
Pockets, pockets, holding surprises! And a favorite Greek proverb!
This was personalized with a "P" for my name!
Virginia knows that I am a tea fanatic... the doily is tea stained, I believe...gives it that nice vintage feel.
A close up of this page...
Sweet quotes... aren't the paper flowers adorable?
Yes indeed...life is good, isn't it? I am so spoiled by all of this goodness!
These pockets hold all sorts of paper wonders!
I hope you have gotten the feel for this amazing piece of mail. I don't even know what they are called, but I do know that several file folders were joined together, then decorated to the hilt! Virginia, maybe you would like to leave a comment below and give us more information on the process of your making this gorgeous Folder Flip Book, which I shall treasure always!
Go forth and make beautiful mail!
Pam
The missing letter!
One Final look: The Anatomy of a Folder Flip Book!
Post Script: When I received this Folder Flip Book I was just stunned with the workmanship, but thought it was odd that there was no letter enclosed. When typing up this post, I retrieved the book to make sure I had not missed anything, and sure enough, I didn't photograph the last page...AND, I happened to see that a pocket was made between two folders...holding a letter! So, if you receive one of these, examine carefully! ;-)
This is lovely and I can see why you was excited to receive it. Thank you for sharing with us.
