Vellum Envelope Letter for Snail Mail

Clearly, it's the best choice...

It's time for some vellum mail!   I think that this cartoon  art was found in an old literature book that I tore up for mail art.   I love using the Super Hero stamps to carry the cartoon theme through.

Here is a view of the back.  Lots of confetti and glitter confetti, and of course plenty of odds and ends to make for some interest.

I enjoy writing my letters on graph paper.  I like the causal feel and of course the lines are always a help!  On this letter, I found myself doodling in the margins and where ever I had a spot.  It's a great way to show your pen pal some new stamping ink, or new washi tape, or just a random sticker.

These A7  envelopes are  called:  "Parchlucent"...they are technically not vellum but very similar.  I really can't remember where I purchased them online but Newegg carries the exact package that I have.

Have a great day and go create great mail!

Pink Crush Snail Mail

NOTICE TO ALL MY READERS:  You are at the right place!  Do you like my new "cleaned up look"?  I have been a published blog now for over 5 years, and thought I was due for a little update.  Many thanks to my sweet daughter in law for the new banner.  Isn't it FABULOUS?  I may have some more changes in the appearance of the website in the future and would love to hear your feed back as I move forward.

I am a bit behind  on posting some of my out going snail mail...I think this was a few weeks ago.  Thank you to Elaine for two of the envelopes (Sunflowers and Tea Kettle) that she so graciously shared with me.  I need to get together with her and have a "Envelope Making Night" in her FABULOUS craft studio!  You will get to meet Elaine in a post coming up real soon.

I make many of my envelopes from gift wrapping paper, and the above envelope was one of them.    In the above picture the "music" envelope was also from sturdy wrapping paper.  Have you tried this before?  With the pink paper, it really needs a liner, which is simple to make and adds a little more thickness to the paper.

This is one of the few Valentine Day cards that I sent out this year.  I had started cutting out all the components of this card to make several...but never got around to it.  It is tucked away for a rainy day.  I think these would be good to send out ANY time of the year don't you?

I have lots of writing to do, so if you have sent me a letter in the past month, yes, month!  (ugh--how do I get behind???) Do not fear, you will be getting a DELIGHTFUL response!  I have LOVED all of my mail recently.  Thank you so much for all the sweetness you have been sending my way!

Go forth and make beautiful MAIL!

The Twists and Turns of a Snail Mail Folder Flip Book!

A Vintage Folder Flip Book...
Extraordinaire!

I received this interesting package in the mail some time ago.  It was a nice puffy package that got me wondering....hmmm...what could this be?

It was from my vintage letter soul mate, Virginia!  But I was in no way prepared to know what an adventure laid before me!  Let's explore the contents of this most interesting "Folder Flip Book".

I untied the string...then started opening each folder...which was attached to another folder...which was attached to another folder--and so on.  The amount of work in this folder book takes my breath away. Each page requires careful study -- so many paper crafting techniques here!  I'm not even sure how she did this!  I couldn't believe how many sides were filled with unbelievable  cuteness and vintage delights.  But I think I shall just let the pictures speak for themselves!

Cute vintage die cuts, bows, paper flowers, and sticky notes...

very nice , inspirational quotes throughout...

Pockets, pockets, holding surprises! And a favorite Greek proverb!

This was personalized with a "P" for my name!

Virginia knows that I am a tea fanatic...  the doily is tea stained, I believe...gives it that nice vintage feel.

A close up of this page...

Sweet quotes... aren't the paper flowers adorable?

Yes indeed...life is good, isn't it?  I am so spoiled by all of this goodness!

These pockets hold all sorts of paper wonders!

I hope you have gotten the feel for this amazing piece of mail.  I don't even know what they are called, but I do know that several file folders were joined together, then decorated to the hilt!  Virginia, maybe you would like to leave a comment below and give us more information on the process of your making this gorgeous Folder  Flip Book, which I shall treasure always!

Go forth and make beautiful mail!

Pam

The missing letter!

One Final look:  The Anatomy of a Folder Flip Book!

Post Script:  When I received this Folder Flip Book I was just stunned with the workmanship, but thought it was odd that there was no letter enclosed.  When typing up this post, I retrieved the book to make sure I had not missed anything, and sure enough, I didn't photograph the last page...AND, I happened  to see that a pocket was made between two folders...holding a letter!  So, if you receive one  of these, examine carefully! ;-)
