Is There A Washi Tape Addiction Hotline?

5 Signs of a Washi Tape Addiction (OK, make it 6)

Now, of course, I am not referring to myself.  No, never.  But just in case there are those of you who may struggle this area, let us check if we can at least see the warning signs.

1.  You find yourself surfing online Etsy late at night, half awake, half comatosed , for pink flamingo washi tape.
2.  It isn't a coincidence that  your budget doesn't include washi tape...must mean "the sky's the limit".
 3.  You buy multiple rolls of the same tape because, you know...you'll run out and they will NEVER  have that same design.
4.  You're doing a teal planner layout and you must have 15 teal washi tapes to make it presentable.
5.  You need to find hiding places to store your stockpile of washi tape , because you are afraid your husband will see it and wonder why you have so much of it.
6.  But , "I don't have any ice cream washi tape!"

Any of you who may have ordered from my Etsy Store will know that I love mailing out my orders with lots and lots of cheerful washi tape and stickers.  I feel like everyone should get some Happy Mail now and then, so I try to make it special.  And I am really thankful for all of the great sellers on Etsy that make that happen. Check out Cwlcrafts for a great selection of washi tape! But do  be mindful of the warning signs of washi tape addiction!

Send a letter today, and of course, use lots of washi tape! :-)

Frugal Finds!

What's Not To Like With These Cuties?

Who doesn't like donuts?  These stickers look good enough to eat right off the paper! These were found at Walmart for $.97.

I like to use these donut stickers to adorn my out-going Etsy orders.  Who wouldn't like receiving these parcels full of yummies?

But wait.  There are more!  Walmart has a great selection of stickers for $.97, these are just a few.

Most of these items were purchased at Target's Dollar Spot, sales at Joann's or Michael's.  Look for the clearance stickers, or find the sections in these stores.  I find that many places are discontinuing their summer themed items at 60% or more savings.  It is a great time to stock up,

Stationery Fun!

You Can Never Have Enough...

Seriously.  I do not advocate hoarding.  I try to purchase that which I truly use.  Many of the items you see here will be used in give-aways or gifts to others.  I just like to play with them for a bit first.

These could have been put on my Frugal Finds post...they were all from the Target Dollar Spot...aren't they fun?

Does anyone else out there have a fascination with tags?  Big ones, little ones?  I love them all.

One of my pen pals sent me a note written on this card, then sent me a blank one so I could send it to a "cool friend".  I like it when we share stationery.  There always seems to be plenty to share, right?

The Craftier, the better.

Frugal Finds...Dollar Tree Score!

"Frugal Finds Round Up"

On my stationery buying round, I try to always make it to the Dollar Tree.  They usually have something up their sleeves!  Here are some cute  Eiffel Tower sticky notes and page flags that will be perfect for  my Kikki Planner...and of course , any planner.  I couldn't resist and got two.

I thought this little note book in a flap over purse style was cute.

I have been purchasing my ribbon here too.  They have sheer...sparkly sheer, sequins, and even silky ribbon.  I love the gold thin ribbon.  Perfect for parcels.

I have seen this at Dollar Tree for quite some time.  I will be using this on my vintage mailings.

If you do a fair amount of parceling like I do...then don't pass up the packing tape! (Wish they carried the cute printed packing tape!)

I love their cute colorful paper clips.  They carry two sizes.  These are the large, and they carry the smaller ones as well.

That ends my "Frugal Finds Round Up"or Dollar Tree. They haven't had any washi tape lately , boo!   Leave me a comment on what you find yourself snatching up at the Dollar Tree Stationery section!

Stationery Scandals: Destination : Paris! DIY

Paris...HERE WE COME!

Well...at least in my letter writing.  But ...maybe one day!

Here, I used some Paris themed washi tape that I found at the Dollar Tree (love frugal finds--don't you???) and then used some pigment ink and stamped the stationery background.  The envelope has some vintage themed stickers and the tag is also covered with vintage themed stickers that I had  just waiting for a project like this!

Hot Pink Snail Mail...Frugal Finds!

Here is a bit of "Hot Pink" inspiration.  Don't you just love these eye popping colors!  I have a definite crush going on here!

And here is a bit of frugal fun that I found when sniffing around Walmart's Valentine's stash asile! This stationery set comes with a envelope template and an envelope liner template.  Don't you love the colors...and those cute polk-a-dots?  I do!  There are 3 sets.  One set  not pictured is in pastels, and the third set includes some vintage paper, and a soft colored Kraft, along with pastel pink.  I rather think that these are a good deal.  Maybe they will be on clearance  after the 14th. Keep your eyes out for these.

Speaking of the 14th...it's not too late to send out your Valentines.  And don't forget to write a love letter to that special someone in your life...

Stationery Scandals: Whimsy Theme DIY

DIY :  Stationery on the Whimsy Theme...

So...where do I start with my ideas for stationery?  Well, sometimes I look over my scrapbooking paper and find something I really want to use as a focal point, then work around that.  Other times, like this set, I like to use a rubber stamp set as my inspiration.  Then I settle on a color theme and from there the ball just keeps rolling!

I adore this rubber stamp set, actually it is two.  Most of it you could draw free hand, but I did use the rubberstamps, at least faintly and then just filled it in freehand, as it was not stamping well.  I used a red gel pen to fill in on the red.  I went with a black and red theme and used my coordinating washi tapes.  I also had some black cut outs from another project that was left over that worked well here.    The tag picked up on the lady bug off the envelope.  I was glad I could find a country sticker in the black and red colors.

I had to turn my postage stamp around to fit the envelope and not run into my stamp image.  I might have to place the postage stamp on the envelope FIRST, then work around it, instead of vice versa. Again, this postage stamp is picking up the black and red theme.

I can't wait to send out a letter using this stationery!  Oh, in case you are wondering about why I am only including 2 stationery sheets  with each set, it is because they are 8 1/2 X 11 inches, so fairly large for a lengthy letter.  FUN!

Stationery Scandals: Vintage Postal Theme

Vintage Postal Theme

Here is some more of my creations for stationery.  I recently visited our RVA stamp store...and what a visit I had!  I will have to share in a later post about my finds.  But among other things I was able to pick up some bulk vintage stamps (already off the envelopes), very convenient for craft purposes.    So it's time to get out your snail mail tools and get to work!  I collect a lot of vintage postal ephemera , so while looking over these and my vintage postal washi tape, I decided that would be my design theme.  The paper, also is a cream color instead of a white.  Do you have some old cancelled stamps?  This would be a good project to use  on  this stationery .  The red label (which I use very frequently in my mail art) can be purchased at the Dollar Tree!  Yay!!! Vintage--ee  looking and cheap!

The paper is just decorated with a few glued on old stamps, sort of scattered on the boarders.  The tag was very simply made by just gluing on some old stamps on a Kraft tag.  The rest of the envelope art is just vintage stickers.

Have fun making and SENDING your own designed stationery to someone who will really be wowed by it.

Stationery Scandals: Floral Theme DIY

Making your own Stationery....Floral Theme!

Are you getting tired of your stationery stash...is it getting boring?  Then it is time to up the stationery stash and DIY!!   For this  selection, I picked a floral theme.  This is just using scrap book paper, paper punches for the butterflies and washi tape.  I decorated the pages with scallops of the same floral scrap book paper.  The tag is a purchased tag, but I could have cut the scrap book paper to sized and then glued it to the tag for a real match.  The address labels are rubber stamps on card stock.

Enclosures for this stationery could be some pastel , or floral Journal cards, pressed flowers would also be nice!

You could make your own with very little  effort too.

My Winter Stash...what's in yours?

I keep themed stashes of Stationery.  This helps with keeping stationery embellishments somewhat streamlined, and hopefully helps keep time from being wasted when working on a project.  This is my winter stash.

I keep it all in a clear plastic labeled container...but it is hard to see everything...you sort of have to rummage around to find things  or...

Go ahead and lay it all out so you can see what you have available.  Then let your creativity lead you.

One way to get some inspiration is to organize items by a color theme.  I love GOLD this time of year...

And don't you love this Kraft and red theme?   The possibilities are all there, ready to be unleashed!

I usually keep these winter themes going  through the end of December...but who says you can't keep going with them?  Have fun with your stashes and USE them.  They do no one any good staying in the bottom of a box!
