Spot Light On My Mail Box

Do You Get Cool Mail?

Oh, yes.  I get the best!  This envelope is so amazing...How DID she do it?  I am guessing now, perhaps masking fluid (for the cursive writing) then paint with a template? The green "paint" is textured.   Oh, the mystery of it all.  I love it.  But that was only the beginning...

This is a file folder letter.  It is just beautiful, isn't it?  I am loving all of the encouraging, positive vibes.

Here it is when opened.  Lots of details and work!

And my, oh my.  All of the goodies inside the pocket.  I really did enjoy the letter too.  She asked some really great  pen pal questions for a first letter, such as, "What are some of your summer highlights;  what are your hobbies, etc.

Thank you Cathy.  I will be popping the following into the mail for you for being my "Spot Light on my Mail Box" winner.  If you would like to write me,  and would like to be featured on my blog, my address is on the right side column of this page.

The Craftier, the better!
Happy Snail Mailing,

Let Me Tell You About A Letter In My Mailbox...Addy Mail!

A "Letter" from Addy is really a Parcel!

Addy is one of my instagram "buddies".  She is such a sweet young lady, and hugely crafty with her mail projects.  Here is her most recent "letter" to me.  You can see from the photos below that with each pocket and crevice, she has it stuffed with all sorts of goodies. It takes quite sometime to go through all of the goodness, so you see why I call it a Parcel/Letter!

Pretties, pretties, pretties!

Don't you just love the color scheme going on here?  It is just shouting out to me:  Sunshine , girl!

These little pull behind campers are so nostalgic that they have quickly become iconic!  Look at all the details that she had to cut out by hand!

Here is all the goodness stuffed into this  sweet letter.  And yes, the letter is always the highlight for me....but don't get me wrong.  I love goodies like the next person does.

Addy mail always brightens up my week!

Let Me Tell You About A Letter In My Mailbox...

Snail Mail Spotlight!!

I am so honored...

I received this letter recently and just had to tell you about it.  This is actually a letter from a friend of mine.   I immediately admired the bright, colorful and cheerful envelope.  She blames me for her washi tape fascination now.

I am  consistently thrilled with witty quotes on the back side of an envelope, and this letter did not disappoint.  I have a note book  that I keep of quotes, I am regularly looking for new ones to add to my collection.

But what made this ordinary letter extraordinary was this marvelous snippet in her letter (and I quote);  "Today, I'm sorry to say, I've allowed electronic devices to be my main form of communication.  Your Blog has inspired me, so I'm sending my first snail mail letter to you!"[Note: this writer had written letters in times past, but not in recent years]
Obviously, she could have sent a letter to anyone...but  I was tickled pink that she chose me!  What an honor!  And for that very reason, I chose her letter to be my Spotlight on my Mail box!

Here is what I have sent out to her, just a little thank you for joining the "Snailmail Revolution" and allowing me to "spotlight" her mail  this week.

I am loving the "Ready Post" bubble mailers at the USPS!  Yay! I was a bit behind on my Spot Light mail going out, so the other one was to Miss. Virginia for her lovely tea dyed letter.

So put excuses aside.  Put pen to paper and perhaps you too may be re-discovering snail mail for the first time in a long time.

Write Often.

Bunny Mail

Look what "hopped into my mail box"!

Do you have a super "crafty" pen pal?  I am blessed to have several.  Miss Trinka  definitely fits in that category! I received this bit of  happiness and sunshine in my mail  from her and I just had to smile.  Look at all the work in this .  There is just way too much cuteness going on here.  I thought the bunny note paper was  adorable,  and the mini craft folder was so cool! And...the cello bag of mini goodies was  just  perfect .  I will try to incorporate these embellishments into a future outgoing letter. I'm almost at a loss as to what to send back...hmmm....that is what Pinterest is for though, right?   ;-)

Here is a closer look into what was inside the mini craft folder.  I loved the entire parcel.   It is always such a pleasure to receive such loving "gifts" from another, isn't it?  And the beauty and mystery of the snail mail world, is that we can exchange such beautiful works of craftiness, art, words of encouragement -- all of this without even meeting the person beyond paper.  I don't know about you...but that fact never ceases to amaze me  with  mail in general.

Thank you Trinka!  I will be responding soon...after I camp out awhile on Pinterest!  Ha, ha!

Let Me Tell You About A Letter In My Mailbox...

Mail Box Spotlight of the Week!

This beautiful letter arrived in my mailbox recently.

And I particularly loved the Victorian wax seal.

The envelope and the paper appeared to be tea dyed.  I don't think that  I  have  tried doing that yet.   It gave the letter  a really "old, vintage" feel to it.  It arrived with a charming package of wild flower seeds!

I hope to plant these by  next weekend.

Thank you , Virginia for writing me and being my  Mail Box Spotlight for this week.  You will receive a gift in the mail from me-- along with a letter!.

Would you  like to be featured on this blog? Please take a look at the sidebar for my address... and write!  I will be featuring  mail as it comes in.  (I am a bit behind, so I am playing catch up for the next couple of weeks.)  And thank you for your letters...I love each and everyone of them.
